German Holiday Cookie 3 cup flour 1 lb. powder sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 4 eggs 1 heaping Tablespoon grated lemon rinds In a paper bag, shake together 1 cup of flour, powdered sugar, baking powder and lemon rinds. Beat eggs until very light. Add dry ingredients from paper bag. Beat well. Work in rest of flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on flour board. Roll to 1/4" thick and cut 1 1/2"x2" rectangles. Lay out on lightly floured cloth. Let set about 2 dry tops. Bake on buttered sheet at 250 for 20 minutes or until bottoms are golden.

1 (18-ounce) package refrigerated oatmeal cookie dough 1 cup chocolate chips 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 Heath candy bars (1.4-ounces each), coarsely chopped Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C). Coat 9-inch deep dish pie pan with nonstick cooking spray. Slice the cookie dough into 24 slices and arrange on the bottom and up the sides of the pie plate. Press the dough together, making a uniform crust. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips, set aside. In a large bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat the cream cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla for 1 minute, until well mixed. Stir in the candy pieces and pour into the pie plate. Bake at 40 to 45 minutes until the center is firm. Remove from the oven and cool. Cover loosely, then chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Cassoulet, a hearty white bean casserole, is a French original. Its savory flavor comes from herbes de Provence, a mixture of dried thyme, basil, rosemary and lavender. Ingredients Cassoulet: 2 Tbsp (30mL) extra-virgin olive oil 1 medium onion, diced 1 large carrot, diced 1 large red potato, diced 6 large cloves garlic, minced 1 Tbsp (3g) herbes de Provence 1/2 tsp (3g) salt 1/2 tsp (2g) freshly ground black pepper 1 bay leaf 2 15-ounce (425g) cans cannellini beans, drained 1 14 1/2-ounce (415g) can diced tomatoes 2 cups (480mL) vegetable broth Bread Crumb Topping: 2 Tbsp (30mL) extra-virgin olive oil 3 thick slices French bread 2 sprigs parsley 4 cloves garlic, peeled Directions: Preheat oven to 325 F (165 C). In a large skillet, saute onion, carrot and potato in olive oil over medium-high heat 5 minutes. Add garlic, herbes de Provence, salt, and pepper saute another minute. Combine vegetables with bay leaf, beans, tomatoes and vegetable broth in a large, lightly oiled casserole dish. Bake uncovered 20 minutes. To make bread crumb topping, combine olive oil, bread, parsley and garlic in a food processor. Puree on high until finely crumbled. Remove cassoulet from oven and take out bay leaf. Raise oven temperature to 400 F (205 C). Sprinkle half the bread crumbs on top bake another 15 minutes. Remove cassoulet from oven stir bread crumb topping into beans. Top with remaining bread crumbs. Bake another 15 minutes or until topping is lightly browned. Serve immediately.

Brenda's Ham Dip 2 8oz softened cream cheese 1/2 chopped onion 1/2 chopped green pepper 2 tbsp worstershire sauce 2 tbsp Accent seasoning 2pkg thin sliced ham deli meat (Budding) 1 pkg chopped pecans (optional) Mix together cheese, Accent, and worstershire sauce. Add in green pepper, onion, and meat. Chill and roll into logs and roll in nuts. This is best if left set for 2 or more hours. Serve on crackers or mini rye bread.

A few years ago I went on a dove hunt trip. One of the hunters brought along chilled (crisp)Jalapeno's stuffed with Phily cream cheese, real(Hormel) bacon bits, powdered hidden Valley ranch dressing, and????? does anyone out there know this recipe. I cannot recall if it was a dash of Lea Perrin Worchester or the sauce bottle that has a parrot on it. I have looked through the Hidden Valley recipies and have not found it.

Southwest White chili 1 tsp. olive oil 1 lb boneless chicken breast cut into cubes 1/4 cup chopped onions 1 cup chicken broth 1 can(4oz) chopped green chilies 1 can(19oz) white kidney beans(cannellini),Undrained Spice Blend(McCormick) 1 tsp. California Style Blend Garlic powder 1 tsp. Ground Cumin 1/2 tsp. Oregano Leaves 1/2 tsp. Cilantro Leaves 1/4 tsp. Ground red pepper DIRECTIONS: 1. heat oil in 3qt.sauce pan, MED.heat and cook chicken 4-5 min.sti often. remove and cover to keep warm. 2. add onion cook 2 min. stir in broth, green chilies & spice blend simmer 30 minutes. 3. Stir in cooked chicken and beans simmer 10 min. ( garnish with Monterey Jack chesse and onions if desired)

POOR MAN'S STEAK - Amish Recipe 3 lb. hamburger 1 c. cracker crumbs Salt & pepper 1/4 c. chopped onion 1-2 cans mushroom soup Mix well and press onto cookie sheet. Chill overnight to set. Cut in squares, roll in flour and brown both sides. Place in baking dish. Pour soup over meat mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Burger King Breakfast Sandwiches 1 8-ounce can Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls 4 eggs salt ground black pepper 8 ounces ground breakfast sausage (such as Jimmy Dean) or 8 slices of bacon 4 slices American cheese 1. Prepare the rolls by first unrolling the dough out of the can. Separate the dough into four sections, each made up of two triangles. Detach the triangles by tearing along the diagonal perforation, then reattach the dough along the outside parallel edges, pinching the dough together along the middle. This will make one bigger triangle. Loosely roll the dough, from the wide end, all the way up. Now, bring the ends around so that they overlap and the roll is in the shape of a circle. Press the ends together and place the roll onto a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough, then bake following the directions on the package (bake at 375 degrees for 11 to13 minutes). 2. When the rolls are done baking build the sandwich using the above steps 2 through 5 in the recipe for the biscuit sandwich clone. ( Makes 4 sandwiches.

Stuffed Jalapenos This recipe works equally well with Anaheim chili peppers. For best results, choose Anaheim peppers that are long and thin. This recipe serves 6 Ingredients: 4 oz soft-style cream cheese 2 tbsp finely chopped green onion 2 tbsp pimiento, chopped and drained 1 garlic clove, minced 12 jalapenos or 3 Anaheim chili peppers, halved lengthwise and seeds removed Cooking Instructions: In a small mixing bowl stir together cream cheese, green onion, pimiento and garlic. Spoon mixture into jalapeno or Anaheim pepper halves. Cover and chill until serving time. If stuffing Anaheim peppers, cut into 2-inch bite-size pieces prior to serving. Makes about 12 appetizer servings.
