Lara Kendall School was named after Miss Lara David Kendall; a tribute paid to Miss Kendall by the Lake County Board of Education. Miss Kendall attended early Ridgely public schools, taught in the Old Reelfoot, a one room school on the Mississippi River, then continued her teaching career at Ridgely School for a forty year period. She retired in 1959 and was then given this honor of having our current school named in her honor.
